I'm pretty sure the top picture was taken in Antwerp, Belgium. The outline of the buildings is very specific. On the right of picture is just visible part of the hugh coaling installation. This was demolished in 1965 when the Belgian railroads had sent of thei last steam engines. The hugh locomotive shed is still standing, as is the large building behind. However, this immense railyard has been converted to a leisure park in 2010 and the locomotive shed is now a polyvalent hall were festicities take place. The offer of the Belgian railway company to put an old shunting locomotive on display to remember the history of this place was turned down by the architect. Shame really. As a kid a spent hours watching the trains roll by.

The top photo is a great find. This picture was definitely taken at the large railway deport of Antwerpen-Dam in Belgium. This railyard is now completely gone except for the engineshed which is now a multi activities hall for open air initiatives. Just out of this picture on the right is an 19th century smller engine shed which also still standing and has become a posh restaurant. There is part of gantry visible on the right. This belonged to a large coaling installation. This was already demolished half 1960's. The whole area has been turned into a leisure park with lots of green. Difficult to imagine now, though now you can walk where once locomotives ruled!
