The post by Nancy regarding the memoirs of SSG Primrose was awesome. My grandfather (Albert James Nevins) was a 1LT assigned to the 757th Railway Shop BN from the approximate time that it was commissioned. He was later promoted to Captain and became a company commander in one of the battalion's companies. As a young child, my grandfather shared some stories with me about the unit as well and their time spent both in France and in Kassel Germany.
