My dad was in the 713th, CO B. He never said much about his time, just that he was a railroad engineer. What he did talk about was the good time he had in France, seeing Mt. Vesuvius blow, and being sicker than a dog on the ship transport overseas.
I would like to find a copy of this book. Do you know if it is for sale anywhere?
Thank you.

You can find them on eBay sometimes. I found an excellent copy myself after looking for some time. My grandfather was a fireman in this unit. He also didn’t say much but said the same thing about being sick on the transport home.
