Virgil Camp Railroad units England ??

Virgil D Kamp born Illinois, enlisted out of Chicago, Illinois. His daughter Debbie writes ... my father was stationed in England. I have his DD214 and it shows the 3615 Q.M. TRK CO. He was employed before the war by CB& Q Railroad out of Chicago, Ill, living and working in the St Louis Area. He had brakeman, conductor, rifle, basic training and Truck Driver Heavy listed on his discharge papers. Does anyone recognize these locomotives or the location ? Can anyone tell me more about what his unit did ? Contact Debbie dbgorry [@] sbcglobal.net

Railroad unit patches ..

Steve [sb4(at)msn.com] wrote that his father-in-law, James W. Belcher, who was assigned to B Company, 341st Infantry Regiment of the 86th Infantry Division collected and traded for patches while in Europe during the war and they were later used to create this great quilt. Some of these are railroad units .. if you recognize any get in touch with Steve.

763rd ROB soldier James N. Herring : His son Dean's trip back to England

Fascinating research by one of 763rd ROB soldiers, James Herring by his son Dean - you can trace his research into the Weston Camp where the unit was stationed in 1943 and see what is still there and how the camp effected the locals and what they remember of the friendly Yanks today .. Thanks Dean
