763rd Railway Shop Battalion ~ Forrest Rodriguez

Forrest's nephew Brent shared these documents from his uncle service....

Forrest J. Rodriguez of Gretna LA on Wednesday, June 24, 1998. 

Beloved son of the late Teresa Grentz Rodriguez and Joseph Rodriguez. Brother of Clare V. Rodriguez, Helen R. Carpenter and Vigil L. Rodriguez. Age 74 years. 

A lifelong resident of Gretna, LA. 

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend visitation at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Gretna, LA on Friday, June 26, 1998 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the church at 11 a.m. Interment McDonogh Cemetery. Masses preferred. 

MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, INC. in charge of arrangements.

His son, Michael writes ...thank you very much for posting "A History Of Two Years Of Activation" , my Father Joseph F De Luca , was assigned to Headquarters Company , his name is listed on page 39 of 70 in the article. It was very rewarding for me to read about their mission and learn what my father did during the war ! He had only told me stories , but never really described there actual mission. So again, I really enjoyed your history of their Battalion! Thanks Again ;Michael DeLuca

Frank sent this great photo of the 763rd 1952 reunion that both his Dad and Uncle attended he writes .... 
763rd Railway Shop Battalion, Company A held a reunion at the Hotel Governor Clinton, NYC, on Aug 2, 1952. 

My dad (T/Sgt. Franklin W. Hurd) attended the reunion with his wife Dorothy.  Also in Company A and attending was my uncle T-5 Charles E Hurd.
